Can I Participate?
The Competition is open only to anyone on who has signed up for and submitted their solution to the Challengepost platform. 

*Participation constitutes entrant’s full and unconditional agreement to these Official Rules and Organizers’ and Administrator’s decisions, which are final and binding on all matters related to the Competition. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein.

Submission requirements are as follows:

Note that some challenges may have category-specific rules and requirements in addition to the rules below. 
1. Submissions may be any kind of application, be it for the web, a personal computer, a mobile handheld device, SMS, or any software platform broadly available to the public.
2. Submissions must contain an application that functions as expressed in the text description.
3. Submissions must be either in English or if in a language other than English, must be accompanied by an English translation of the text.
4. Submissions must not be indecent, defamatory, in obvious bad taste, demonstrate a lack of respect for public morals or conduct or adversely affects the reputation of the Sponsors.
5. Submissions must not: a) be illegal under applicable laws; b) depict hatred, defame, threaten a specific community in the society or incite violence.
6. Submissions must a) be original; b) be solely owned by Contestant and that no other party has any rights or interest, whether known or unknown; and c) not violate the Intellectual Property, common law or privacy rights of other parties. A Contestant may contract with a third party to assist with the creation of their Submission, provided the Contestant is the sole and unequivocal owner of all intellectual property and licenses in the Submission.

Online Requirements
Each Contestant will be required to provide the following as part of the Submission:
• A text description of the submission, including a declaration of which challenge, if any, the submission addresses.
• At least one photograph of your working app.

*After the Competition Submission Period has ended, the Submission cannot be modified in any way until after Judging has ended

Challenges
The competition is organized around various “challenges” each associated with various prizes. These prizes often include the chance to further develop the idea in conjuction with the challenge sponsor. We highly encourage teams tackle one of these challenges, although the competition does not explicity require it.

More details on challenges will be posted here soon. Challenges span two major topics:

1) Smart Energy: building applications that incentivize grid flexibility and enable renewable power, as well as building applications to process waste smarter.

2) Connected Cars: designing user experiences that turn the car into a connected environment to improve energy, safety and entertainment.
